Silk Sari Fabric by the Pound From Factory Seconds Recycled Curtains
Handmade by artisans in india, these recycled silk curtains have lived countless lives as textiles in the form of silk sari components worn by indian women before being repurposed into colorful curtains. Featuring exotic patterns, floral blooms, and colorways ranging from bright to subdued, each curtain is truly one of a kind. Rather than discarding these, we would love crafters and makers to do what they do best and find new uses for the fabric so we decided to sell them by the pound, as scrap fabric. In almost all cases the damage is very localized, resulting in a lot of material still to work with. We have tried our best to exclude examples of the types of issues we see that cause us to pull out of our retail supply, but cannot account for every possible situation. They generally fall into the following categories: snags & pulls, stains, and low quality fabrication. Each box will be stuffed to its max, but as some fabrics are naturally heavier than others, the total weight will vary. That four pounds will be made up of 10-12 factory second curtain panels, consisting of strips of 6 different sari fabrics sewn together vertically with tabs for hanging at the top. Each curtain is approximately: 84" x 54" or 31.5 square feet. This recycled silk fabric is perfect for quilting, sewing, crafting, darning, eco gift wrapping, journal making, diy home decor, diy decoration, diy handmade clothing, diy scrunchies, or hung as colorful curtains. This item is made of sari silk.
