It is also versatile, and would equally good machine quilted or tied, which ever is more comfortable for you. The history of auntjama's attic co. Aunt jama was an amazing, spunky, tough lady, who loved animals and her family, and was beautiful, smart, funny, and everything i wanted to be when i grew up. And i met her when i was lucky enough to marry in to her family at 23. She was my confidant, my cheerleader, my role model, and the one i turned to when life got to be too much, and i needed someone to remind me that i could kick life's tail, more than it was kicking mine.
I have been quilting for more than 20 years, and everything i know is self taught. Making something beautiful from fabric, and seeing the delight when you present that treasure to them, just makes my heart happy. As i have networked with other quilters and crafters, i have found that most quilters prefer to do the actual quilting, but don't enjoy the piece work.Never one to follow the crowd, i delight in doing the piece work, and tend to design tops much faster than i can complete an entire quilt. So i have been offering tops and blocks to other quilters to enjoy, put their own finishing touches on, and make their own. The history of quilting started with women taking scraps around the house, just whatever they had, because they couldn't waste fabric, and making that into something beautiful, something meant to be.
You'll find my designs run from old fashioned scrappy inspired designs, to darling baby themed layouts, to super hero inspired themes, for both young and old. One thing aunt jama always told me. Do what makes you happy. With the onset of covid 19, i have made a concentrated effort to help support other crafters and small businesses owners like myself. I have been looking for high quality blocks that i can incorporate into my own designs, and it's been wonderful. Not only have i helped keep the crafters going, but it has opened a whole new world of design possibilities for me on any item where i have used these blocks from another quilter, i will credit them, and that way you are sure to know that you are helping support the small business community. Thank you for stopping by, and happy sewing.
