Wonderful vintage mattress fabric with blue, cream, white, red and blue stripes. It is a strong european fabric made around 1950 of herringbone weave. In the past, these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called "cut" (from the french "coutil"). It is made of medium weight cotton. Dense textile perfect for interior design and decoration projects.
The herringbone has been used not only as a type of fabric but to reinforce the visual texture. Rosario says: "without hesitation, i call it -thousands of stripes-". Minor wear consistent with age and history. Minimal scuffing or surface wear towards the side seams. Beautiful hand sewn back patches.
