A faceted herderite from paraiba state, brazil. Named for a german mining engineer, sigmund august wolfgang von herder (17761838) by the noted geologist wilhelm haidinger in 1829, herderite is a phosphate from the same mineral family as apatite and occurs as colourless, yellow or pale green crystals.
